Namita Johri

Namita is currently a first-year PhD Candidate in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, where she also pursued a minor in Environmental Economics and the Law.

She was involved with the Contextual Engineering Research Group during her undergraduate journey and has returned to the group for graduate studies. Prior to the Contextual Engineering Research Group, Namita worked for Burns and McDonnell as a Utility Consulting Analyst in the Renewables team in 1898&Co.

Now, her research as a graduate student focuses on the contextualization of hydraulic fracking, spanning environmental impact and political influences.
