Jess Mingee

Jess Mingee is a Ph.D. candidate in Agricultural and Biological Engineering.  Jess completed an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Sustainability, Energy, and Environment, and co-led the Hopkins Park wastewater project team with Engineers Without Borders. Based on an interest in understanding how contextual engineers gain the trust of their client communities, Jess’ undergraduate research focused on community organizing techniques and how contextual engineers can utilize them to be more effective in their infrastructure interventions.

As a graduate researcher, Jess has worked closely with an Italian entrepreneurial enterprise to better understand the process, predispositions, and contextualization applied to creating a social enterprise based in Zambia to address climate change impacts.
